Since its establishment in 2020, Jatra has continued to grow with a clear purpose: to equip learners with practical skills they can use in real life. Our training goes beyond theory. Students are guided through hands-on work, creative projects, professional discipline and entrepreneurship so that they are prepared for employment, self-employment and business. The school is located along Kireka–Namugongo Road, opposite Namugongo Division Headquarters in Wakiso District.

Practical Learning
Practical training is at the heart of what we do. Students learn by doing through garment construction, beauty practice, class projects and product development. As part of this hands-on training, learners also make marketable products such as Shampoo, Liquid Soap, Hair Conditioner and Petroleum Jelly. These activities expose students to production, hygiene, packaging, presentation and basic entrepreneurship, helping them understand how practical skills can be developed into products for the market and potential sources of income.

Certification
Jatra prepares eligible students for assessment and certification under UVTAB, formerly known as DIT, alongside the school’s own practical and continuous assessments. This gives learners an opportunity to build practical competence while working towards recognised occupational qualifications.

We understand that many graduates will build their own businesses or enter competitive workplaces. Our Students
Jatra welcomes learners from different backgrounds and experiences. We aim to provide a supportive environment where students can learn, grow in confidence and develop their talents into practical careers. Students take part in practical sessions, exhibitions, fashion activities, graduations and other learning experiences that prepare them for the world of work. Accommodation is available for students who need to stay closer to the school during their training.
